As the regenerative medicine field rapidly evolves, CIRM faces a key challenge: investing the remaining $3.86 billion in ways that deliver the greatest impact for Californians.
To meet this challenge, CIRM launched the Strategic Allocation Framework (SAF) to prioritize resources and maximize the potential of regenerative medicine breakthroughs.
What is the SAF?
The SAF uses a systematic, data‑driven approach to help CIRM prioritize how to use its resources most effectively. It guides recommendations to the Independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee, ensuring CIRM stays aligned with its strategic goals and maximizes its impact on Californians.pact on the lives of Californians.
Goals Designed for Maximizing Impact
For nearly a year, CIRM has built the SAF around impact goals that reflect its commitment to accelerating treatment development, promoting equitable access, fostering scientific collaboration, and building the future workforce.
